202-272-0013 FROM FCC -- Dear Colleagues and Friends: The second
broadband workshop to focus on disabilities and accessibility will be held
Tuesday, October 20, 2009 from 9:15 a.m. (ET) to 4:30 p.m. at the Federal
Communications Commission. See: http://www.broadband.gov/ws_accessibility_disabilities.html
for more detail about the proposed workshop. Please also
join us by participating in the blog set up to receive comments and ideas for
the workshop. Go to: http://blog.broadband.gov/.
This
new process has tremendous potential to shape our work on the national
broadband plan. It will allow many more people to have input on the structure
and substance of our upcoming workshop. It will also make possible
in-depth, collaborative discussions on complex topics – of which there
are many. In sum, we hope to facilitate an iterative process in which
diverse parties can build from and react to the ideas of others, in a
productive and thoughtful manner. And, of course, we welcome your ideas
about how we can make this process more accessible. |
