Dear Colleagues We are pleased to invite you to our seminar entitled 'Towards a User-Friendly Web' which will take place on April 7th in Amsterdam. This seminar is designed to provide participants with practical tips on ways to make web sites more user-friendly. Topics will cover design, appliances, functionality, effectiveness and interfaces. The seminar will feature the following speakers: - Jacob Nielsen,user advocate and co-owner of the Nielsen Norman Group, - Bruce Tognazzini,lead designer for Healtheon, - Brenda Laurel, designer researcher and writer, whose work focuses on interactive narrative, Human Computer Interaction, and cultural aspects of technology, - Ben Shneiderman, Professor of Computer Science and Head of the Human-Computer Interaction Laboratory at the University of Maryland at College Park, - Donald A. Norman, Professor Emeritus of the University of California at San Diego and co-owner and computer consultant of the Nielsen Norman Group, - Danielle van Diemen, head of Internet research at ACS-i. These speakers are user experience pioneers: they defended users and usability before it became popular to do so. The final event of the day will be a panel discussion, chaired by Peter Kentie, in which all five top user interface experts will answer your questions!
